How Do I Become a Master Gardener?

The first step to becoming a Master Gardener is completting the OSU Volunteer Application process. To be a member of the 2010 MG training class, please return your completed application as soon as you are able.  After completing the application, an interview with an Extension Educator will be required. Once you are accepted into the program, there is a training fee of $125. This fee covers the cost of the manual, meeting materials, speaker fees, and certificates/pins.  The background check that is required is NOT included in this fee.

Upon successful completion of the training program, you will receive the Master Gardener Intern card.  You will then spend one year as an intern while completing the 50 hours of volunteer time to become a certified Master Gardener Volunteer.

The following documents can be printed to have for your files. Please return the documents to our office at: 2900 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, Ohio 44870
